Where are you located?
We are located on Mount Diablo Blvd. in Lafayette, California, directly across the street from Jack in the Box and behind the Soccer Post.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for any rescheduling or cancellations to avoid a late fee. The fee is $40 for standard sessions and $50 for Test Prep sessions.
What are your tutoring rates?
Standard private tutoring sessions are $79 each for 55 minutes and $118 for 85 minutes. For ACT, SAT, and K-5 package rates, please refer to the respective pages on our website.
Where does in person tutoring take place?
All in person tutoring sessions take place at our Lafayette location. We do not provide in-home tutoring services.
How do I schedule tutoring?
To schedule tutoring, please fill out our contact form and our team will follow up with availability. You may also schedule one-time appointments directly through your Mindbody account.
How often do students schedule tutoring?
We offer recurring weekly tutoring and one-time appointments scheduled up to two weeks in advance. Please note that we cannot accommodate bi-weekly scheduling.
What are your tutor’s qualifications?
Lafayette Academy ensures top-tier instruction through a rigorous selection process. Our tutors, including graduates from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and USC, undergo experience screening, Director interviews to assess teaching adaptability, and mandatory master-level competency testing for every subject.
To maintain our high standards, tutors are experts in local curricula and use collaborative channels to share resources. Before working independently, every new tutor must pass subject-specific exams, shadow at least three sessions, and work with a mentor for ongoing support.
What subjects do you offer tutoring for?
We offer comprehensive tutoring services for students from Kindergarten through High School. Our qualified tutors provide instruction in almost every subject to meet our students’ academic needs.

We utilize Zoom for our online tutoring sessions.
All family accounts are managed through Mindbody. Please log in to your account to edit your information, book appointments, or process cancellations.
We use Online Score Tracker for our practice SAT and ACT tests, as well as for SAT homework.
