Shadow Class® Schedules & Registration
Shadow Classes® are weekly, small group tutoring sessions that shadow specific subjects at Acalanes, Campo, or Miramonte. The classes are led by our expert tutors, who are intimately familiar with each school’s curriculum. Subject-specific classes meet in Lafayette or Online, and we welcome requests to add additional classes or times. Here are some of the features that make these classes unique and special:
- We already know the problems students will face and how to overcome them, so we can help our students get A’s.
- Our instructors can explain difficult concepts in many ways to account for students with different learning styles.
- We often preview upcoming material to give our students a head start.
- Our classes include a “community” element which mimics the in-school experience, but is more personalized.
- We sometimes add FREE classes prior to tests that do not coincide with one of our class times.
- Register below or scroll down to hear more reasons to enroll your children in Shadow Classes®.
Shadow Classes® are only $236/month ($59/week).
The fee is only $49/week when you enroll for the semester.
Why Our Shadow Classes® Beat Generic Tutoring
Many tutoring centers “wing it” or offer “cookie-cutter” curriculum. Some teach algebra from a generic workbook that may have nothing to do with what your child is being tested on this Friday.
Shadow Classes® are entirely different. We shadow the actual classes at Acalanes, Campo, and Miramonte.
We know the teachers: Our instructors are intimately familiar with local high school syllabi, teaching styles, and the challenges faced by students.
We target the upcoming test: We don’t waste time on concepts your student already knows. We preview the exact chapters, clarify confusing homework, and prepare them for their specific teacher’s grading style.
Proven results: In our last student survey, 91% of our Shadow Class® students reported raising their grades by one or two letter grades.
Parents often worry their kids will fight going to tutoring. This puts that worry to rest.
A Supportive Environment Where Kids Actually Have Fun
High school is stressful enough. Our small-group environment is collaborative, social, and low-pressure. Students love studying alongside their classmates and friends from Lamorinda. They benefit from hearing each other’s questions, realize they aren’t the only ones struggling with a tough concept, and actually look forward to their weekly sessions.
