✓ Adaptable teachers who adjust for different learning styles -and-
✓ Newly found self-confidence driven by steady progress in school
Here’s a Brief Comment about Our Philosophy
Unlike some elementary school math or elementary school reading programs, Lafayette Academy is not an over-the-top learning center that caters to “Ivy League or Bust” parents.
We help students of all ability levels master academic fundamentals so they can succeed in every subject area—regardless of where they are at today. Our goal is to help each child reach his or her potential.

I’m Interested, Now What?
Click on “request more information” and this is what will transpire:
- Our Education Director (ED) will contact you after we receive your form.
- She will ask you a bunch of questions to learn about your child and answer any questions that you have about us.
- Then, she and you will determine if we’re a good fit for each other.
- If it’s a good fit, our ED will turn you over to our front desk staff for scheduling.
- Meanwhile, our ED will get our system and curriculum ready for your child and meet with our teacher(s).
- Your child starts her or his program
In our Elementary School tutoring programs, your child will
✓ Meet privately with a teacher once or twice a week (online or in-person)
✓ Learn through hands-on activities and sophisticated technology
✓ Complete assessments or work that are correlated to state standards and benchmarks
Behind the scenes, our ED is in contact with our teachers and monitoring reporting data that we receive from our system. Our teachers and ED ensure that every student makes real, tangible progress! They also use ongoing assessment data to inform instruction and adjust curriculum as needed.
Master Math Program for Elementary School Students
Redbird Math from McGraw Hill is the foundation of our Master Math Program for all elementary and middle-school students. Developed by Stanford University, Redbird Math is an adaptive math tutoring program that provides personalized math instruction based on your child’s current level.
K-8 students enrolled in our Master Math Program work hand-in-hand with knowledgeable teachers—a hallmark of our K-8 education division.
Strategic Reading Program for Elementary School Students
Our Strategic Reading program is driven by McGraw-Hill’s Redbird Language Arts & Writing curriculum for all elementary and middle-school-aged children. Redbird Language Arts & Writing is an innovative, assessment-based curriculum that adjusts automatically as your child’s reading level improves.
Lafayette Academy’s ultimate goal is to nurture your child into becoming a “strategic reader” so he or she can comprehend and retain increasingly difficult texts.
Our friendly, attentive tutors are highly trained to personally guide your child toward improving her or his reading comprehension skills. You will see verifiable results and, most importantly, more confidence and academic self-esteem.
Intentional Writing Program for Elementary School Students
Intentional Writing utilizes the adaptive technology of Redbird Language Arts and Writing to help young students develop their writing and grammar skills. This platform was developed at Stanford and is grounded in more than 25 years of research.
Our tutors work hard to nurture your child so they can become “intentional writers,” expressing themselves in a clear and concise manner. We accomplish this by identifying and closing foundational writing gaps that prevent children from finding their writing voice and style.
