Elementary School Tutoring

Lafayette Academy’s elementary school tutoring helps your child catch up or get ahead in reading, math, and/ or writing.

When you choose Lafayette Academy, say goodbye to

✓ A one-size fits all approach

✓ Large group settings that leave certain kids behind

✓ Rigid teaching strategies -and-

✓ The stress and frustration that come with falling behind in school

And say hello to

✓ Personalized tutoring that starts where your child has stopped.

✓ Teacher and technology-driven curriculum targeted to your child

✓ Adaptable teachers who adjust for different learning styles -and-

✓ Newly found self-confidence driven by steady progress in school

Here’s a Brief Comment about Our Philosophy

Unlike some elementary school math or elementary school reading programs, Lafayette Academy is not an over-the-top learning center that caters to “Ivy League or Bust” parents.

We help students of all ability levels master academic fundamentals so they can succeed in every subject area—regardless of where they are at today. Our goal is to help each child reach his or her potential.

Why Lafayette Academy?

Wondering why Lafayette Academy is the best option for your child?

✓ We have experienced, personable, and empathetic teachers.

✓ Our assessments reveal skill gaps and learning style(s) that inform instruction.

✓ Our instructors and ED monitor your child’s progress, a hallmark of our K-8 education.

✓ We incorporate study skills and mentoring (if necessary) with subject-specific help.

The (Not So) Fine Print

  • Each tutoring session is 55 minutes, long enough to be meaningful yet short enough to keep your child’s attention.
  • You can purchase 18 or 36-session packages: 18 sessions are $79/hour ($1,422 + ongoing assessments); 36 sessions are $69/hour ($2,484 + ongoing assessments).

I’m Interested, Now What?

Click on “request more information” and this is what will transpire:

  1. Our Education Director (ED) will contact you after we receive your form.
  2. She will ask you a bunch of questions to learn about your child and answer any questions that you have about us.
  3. Then, she and you will determine if we’re a good fit for each other.
  4. If it’s a good fit, our ED will turn you over to our front desk staff for scheduling.
  5. Meanwhile, our ED will get our system and curriculum ready for your child and meet with our teacher(s).
  6. Your child starts her or his program

In our Elementary School  tutoring programs, your child will

✓ Meet privately with a teacher once or twice a week (online or in-person)

✓ Learn through hands-on activities and sophisticated technology

✓ Complete assessments or work that are correlated to state standards and benchmarks

Behind the scenes, our ED is in contact with our teachers and monitoring reporting data that we receive from our system. Our teachers and ED ensure that every student makes real, tangible progress!  They also use ongoing assessment data to inform instruction and adjust curriculum as needed.

Intentional Writing Program for Elementary School Students

Intentional Writing utilizes the adaptive technology of Redbird Language Arts and Writing to help young students develop their writing and grammar skills. This platform was developed at Stanford and is grounded in more than 25 years of research.

Our tutors work hard to nurture your child so they can become “intentional writers,” expressing themselves in a clear and concise manner. We accomplish this by identifying and closing foundational writing gaps that prevent children from finding their writing voice and style.
